Frequency refers how often an event occurs.

Frequency is the number of cycles per unit of time.

Frequency of a wave refers to how often the partilces of medium vibrate when a wave passes through the medium.

Frequency is measured in the form of Hertz(Hz).

1 Hz = 1 cycle/second.
